Hong Kong series continue after so many months... why? No reason, could be stress from various sources, make me feel tired after work and even during weekends.
Luk Yu 陸羽茶室 is another famous old dim sum place similar with 莲香楼, but more pricey as a lot celebrities like to visit here. It has been around for more than 60 years and waiters all dressed in old white costume. We tried only typical dim sum here as they didn't serve anything special (at least I didn't hear the dim sum lady shout any special stuff...). Quality no better than 莲香楼 but almost same portion of breakfast here cost us HKD 251!
Another reason why Luk Yu is so famous is because a business man was killed here years ago. Not sure am I sitting at the same table or not :-)

You are back!!! Where did you go since your last post in Jan??
I have been wanting to try this tea house since it's so well known. I tot it was well known for the good food, didn't know about the murder. Gulp!
Seems like really expensive. Are dim sum in HK all similarly priced?
precious pea : ha ha... in M'sia most of the time, could be tired therefore took a "long" break, so sorry.
some said if you want to recollect old dim sum restaurant memories, must visit Luk Yu, because each piece of wood, painting, sputum pot... is real antique. of course all dim sum still prepared with traditional way, but taste wise really just normal.
kokwai : nope, Luk Yu is one of the most expensive and oldest, dine somewhere else can easily cut 40% from the total bill here.
My Hong Kong cousin never bring me to any of the famous cha lau you mentioned. Maybe local don't like going to famous cha lau.
simon seow : next time ask him to bring you there, once a while to feel how cha lou like is good too.
