Marco's Pizza @ Kelana Jaya

Wanted to try the famous King Crab... too bad, the waiter inform us all crabs already sold out, so we head to other option around that area, Marco's Pizza.

Friend told me Marco and King Crab is under same owner, but are they having same level of quality (and fame)? The restaurant is really well design with theme like Pirates of the Caribbean, but I'm a bit surprise the pizza is not too expensive here.

Their Margarita seems a good deal, but I've only ordered a Passion Fruit (RM 8.50). To complete our light dinner, I go for the Marco's Pizza (RM16.80) and Minestrone (RM 6.50).

My first try on Minestrone actually just months ago in Den Bosch, I actually quite like the taste of this (read more about Minestrone here). Its chicken broth is not as thick as the one I tried before, give this a try if you are tired with those mushroom chicken soup.

How about the Marco's Pizza then? With shredded ham inside and eggs on the outside, looks like a good combination but turned out not as expected. They basically baked these 2 main ingredients without adding too much other flavors, so it's a bit bland to me. Both Luna Bar and Roma Pizza Club serve some pizzas better than this.

Fried Kuey Teow @ Tengkat Tong Shin

Read about a fried kuey teow review from Chinapress days ago saying kuey teow must fried with lard. I'm not quite agree with this statement, but since the shop mentioned has been around for more than 20 years and located around Tengkat Tong Shin, so I think it should has certain quality.

The shop is running by husband and wife. I've ordered my big fried kuey teow (RM 4.50) but didn't notice who prepare mine and I'm hoping equal quality from both of them... Unfortunately, I'm very disappointed with the result.

Well... smell of lard really an attractive point, but there are more to complaint. The noodles didn't scatter well, don't they know this is very important for a good fried kuey teow? About the taste, it's kinda bland. With so much of ingredients it should very tasty but it didn't. The quality is just very normal to me but they are really good in business. Maybe today their standard drop a bit... or maybe it just doesn't meet my own tastebuds.

Beside the fried kuey teow, we've also ordered popiah. To be honest... I don't like this too.

Ginger Restaurant @ Central Market

This is my first visit to Central Market. Obviously, this place has been upgraded a lot to serve as a tourism spot, it's kinda hard for me to imagine how it looks like years ago. We visited here because really no idea where to have our dinner around Masjid Jamek area.

Initially want to try the shop at the corner of 1st floor (Precious Old China maybe), but unfortunately it's quite warm inside. Environment seems cozy but I really don't feel like want to dine under such temperature, so finally we decided to give Ginger a try, although most of their customers are foreigner.

Ginger serves Thai (and Malay) food, can't escape from taking spicy food, so I've ordered some dishes hopefully accepted by my stomach.

Actually I've taken a lot of pictures, but none of them turn out to be good (it's too dim inside, only a candle light), so I simply posted here a picture that barely able to see the food.

Fragrant Rice (RM 2 per plate) is what they serve, really great eat together with the South Thai Curry Chicken (RM 17). It's not too spicy, taste slightly different from normal curry and I really like the flavor very much. The other 2 orders, Butter Squid (RM 14) and Fried Kang Kung (RM 10) also nice, but taste a bit too strong, squid too salty and kang kung added too much belacan.

Still a lot items in their menu I can try out. Overall, the meal is satisfying and the portion is definitely enough for 3 persons. Any clue how to capture picture under dusky environment so I can post better picture next time?

Pan Mee @ Seri Kembangan

Read KampungboyCitygal's post just now, reminded me I dropped by same place for dinner about month ago. After few minutes digging my photo library, here's the picture.

This is the missing item in their post, Spinach (菠菜) version. Ordered this because haven't try this before, and it seems more healthy :p. RM 3.50 per bowl, I would say definitely worth the price. Another stall next to it is selling Ramen, maybe I will visit again next time to try it.

Read KampungboyCitygal for location because I'm not too sure about direction in SK.

Sin Hoy How @ Masjid Jamek

How many blog posts can you read per day? I merely have time to read about 5-7 posts, that's the reason why sometimes you found my comment on your blog a bit late :-p. Time is always not enough, especially when you have passion in so many stuffs, spend an hour for each and you'll reach the time to sleep... how great if I no need to sleep.

Okay, back to food. Sin Hoy How 新海口茶餐室 is an old coffee shop near Masjid Jamek area, personally I think their food is nothing special, but quite a lot of people drop by to have a cup of coffee even after lunch.

Dry Curry Mee (RM 4.50). Maybe you will like this but not me.

This is what people usually order, Ice Coffee (RM 2). They put everything into blender and mix it well, that's the trick to create this smooth drink. Taste wise, this is nice, not too sweet and I like the foam on top of it.

Little Vietnam @ Mid Valley

Where do you have Vietnamese food usually? Notice Little Vietnam at Mid Valley but always thought it should something like Vietnam Kitchen, but surprisingly I found it's quite good after we had our lunch there one fine afternoon.

Maybe not all their items are good, but I really like the Hue Beef Hu Tieu (RM 14) I ordered.

Manage to finish this bowl of Hu Tieu (rice noodle) although it's very hot (to me). The soup taste strong, so I think some of you may not like this (health reason I think), but I will definitely revisit to try this noodle again.

SG doesn't feel like want to take spicy food, so she has ordered Rice 5 ColorMix (RM 8). It looks like Lei Cha in Hakka dish but the taste is totally different. I like this rice too as fresh vegetables are so crunchy and feel good when eat together with rice. They serve this dish with lotus root soup but we conclude it's too salty.

Typical Vietnamese drink Three Colors (RM 5.50), which is good and Ice Lime Tea (RM 3.50).

Fei Koh Roasted Duck @ Puchong

Life is quite busy... therefore this is just a quick post: A common roasted duck's place I visit in Puchong - 辉哥国产烧腊.

Location:
Pusat Bandar Puchong, shops opposite Tesco (main road), in a coffee shop (Fong Lei if I'm not mistaken) same row with 1+3d.

Price:
Not too cheap, whole duck is more expensive than others (RM 40).

Quality:
Good (to me). Herbal roasted type, don't eat too much in once.

Beside duck:
He sells roasted pork and char siu too, average quality.

Boss is a nice guy, talk to him to choose part that you like ;-)

Bakerzin @ One Utama

Seems like I seldom blog about cake... main reason is because I don't know how to bake one, but I do spend money to indulge some "sweet" moment (but I'm not Secret Recipe's fans). Having tea break at Bakerzin always not cheap, a Forêt Noir, Warm Chocolate Cake, Lemon Soda and mineral water already cost RM40+.

So what the hell is Forêt Noire?

Here it is... actually, it's Black Forest in French (RM 10.90). Of course this Black Forest taste better than other bakeries, but it's too common as a dessert, which only qualified a good, but nothing extra.

So... if the "big" Black Forest can't really satisfying, how about a "small" Warm Chocolate Cake (RM 16.90)? Look at the plate, it's really too big for the cake. This is one of Bakerzin's signatures, soft chocolate cake on the outside, chocolate fillings on the inside, topped with vanilla ice cream and garnished with seasonal berries.

This little cake not too fantastic to me, actually not quite like the chocolate fillings after mixed up with the cold ice cream (why add some cold on the warm dish?). I'm more prefer a dark (bitter) chocolate cake with ice cream, or just the warm chocolate mousse (with cream probably) separately.

There are still a lot of items in their menu I should try out, maybe next tea break when I have more extra cash to spend +_+.
