Shanghai 10 Grand @ Avenue K

Sick almost 2 weeks already after infected by SG... Anyway, life still continues, and I have a small request here. Finally my plan to visit Hong Kong and Macau is on, but I have yet to schedule what to do, where to visit and the most important, what to eat. I'm not sure if fellow floggers (you) have any idea, or if you already have such a few days schedule on hand, please share with me, thank you in advance here!

When Shanghai 10 Avenue K first opened early this year, I concluded it's not good after our first visit, when they still don't have their complete menu ready yet. After a few months, I decided to dine at Shanghai 10 again due to limited choice around KLCC.

We've ordered the usual Shanghai xiao long bao (灌汤小笼包 RM8) and crab roe xiao long bao (蟹王小笼包 RM12), I must say this not too impressive, but overall I'm still okay with it especially can have non-halal food here.

Tried their gravy La Mian before but it turned out not good at all, so we go for some simple stuff this time. This La Mian (榨菜肉丝拉面 RM9.80) surprisingly not bad. Clear soup and simple ingredients, but have added SG's favourite pressed vegetable, very suitable for patient like me ;-)

To add more porky feel to our dinner, I've tried their Ribs (杏香排骨 RM18). If you like sweet and sour and almond, you should try this next time. This is good and I always accompany my noodles nowadays with small plate of these. So beside their individual meal, their a la carte dishes could be a good choice too, will try again next time.

Hi :-) am visiting Hongkong/Macau next month, more or less planned them already but was told to look out for Msia Women Weekly's September issue. Lots of tips, current ones from Hongkong Tourism Board.

For your HK/Macau trip, HK local ppl had advised me b4 on food that must try:
i) 许留山 - Hui Lau Shan Dessert - Best for Mango Pudding - will never regret
* you may try other hot dessert but it doesn't taste as good as back in KL
ii) Pork Burger @ Macau
iii) Curry Fishball - well is their signature BUT is not as good as 10 years ago
iv) Eggtart - Is perfect!
v) Pineapple Bun - Bo Lo Bau
vi) Pork Floss Egg Roll @ Macau
vii) Steamed Egg

My HK frens had brought me to this restaurant:
i) Orchard Garden
http://www.cinema.com.hk/orchardgarden/eng/index.php
* Should go for Olympic branch, lesser ppl
- not bad, i like the env and the food and the dessert, you may try if u have the time..

Anyway, if you need more info, you may just buzz me.

i've only been to shanghai 10 before and the only thing i liked was the red bean and banana dessert which was deep fried :>

when r u gng to hk/macau? i agree with belinda tht u shud try the mango desserts at hui lau shan. i din get to try it cos i was too full, but they did look good, so i'm basing this suggestion on instinct *hehe* oh and u hav to go 7-11 to try their microwavable rice! i know this may sound stupid la but they're actually quite nice! ;p some of the best things i've had were:

1. polo buns from wing wah bakery
2. nai cha/coffee/yin yong from any cha chan teng
3.baked pork chop rice fr cafe de coral (dun worry they're everywhere ;p)
4.teochew dishes in kimberley rd (kowloon)
5. vitasoy taro flavor from any convenient store (it's juvenile, i know, dun laugh ;p)
6. krispy kremes if u like tht sorta things
7. mooncakes fr kee wah bakery (i bought them knowing tht i wun get the chance to eat msia mooncakes cos i'm always in aus during mooncake festival-- and although they din have "canggih" flavours like msian ones when i bought them, i liked them cos they weren't too sweet :>)

will let u know if i remember anything worth trying ;)
