Breakfast @ New Sun Ho, OUG

One fine morning we dropped by OUG market to get some fresh fruits and breakfast. Morning market was really packed... managed to find a parking but it was miles away. This is only my (less than) 10th visits to OUG, no idea what to eat, so we start checking where the crowd is and what is the popular dish.

After a short walking tour around, finally we decided to have our breakfast at New Sun Ho hawker center. We've ordered Lo Mee because most tables are having this.

Priced at RM 3.80. I will say it's not bad (although I don't really like Lo Mee) especially eat with their very own sambal (didn't take photo of sambal). If you like Lo Mee, can give this a try.

Other than Lo Mee, I've also ordered some popiah (yes, it's popiah again). The bite is good because they've added some fried crunchy thingy into it, but taste wise, it's just okay. No pork lard this time (at least I don't see it). I still remember once (X years ago) popiah in KL wrapped some crab meats inside, but wonder why seldom see it nowadays.

Drink here is quite expensive (as compare to others). An ice coffee cost me RM 1.50, no wonder they said wealthy families live around OUG ;-)

Like you, I remember popiah with crab meat inside...there was a man who'd come to brickfields and sell the popiah in the afternoon...dunno where he is now. Anyhow, your picture of the popiah looks delectable!

I seldom enjoy taking food with lots of vinegar added. Loh-Mee reminds me those "shark fin" soups, which really... err... taste bad.

I also had loh mee 2 days ago and it makes me feel bloated after eating it... Conclusion is, I don't really like loh mee too!

That looks pretty good and stuff with something i have no idea of,,

Did you add vinegar to your loh mee? Some ppl dont like loh mee because of the smell, but the vinegar kills the smell making it not too bad.

lyrical lemongrass : ha ha... I'm not the only one remember about crab meat popiah then.

wk : I don't like it either. For shark fin, usually I add only soy sauce, or Brandy.

jason : ha ha... same here.

kay : err.. typical ingredients of popiah, but this one added stuffs like fried crackers.

teckiee : personally don't favour loh mee (regardless added vinegar or not).

wmw : if you found one, don't forget to inform me!
