Nippon Tei @ KLCC

Is KLCC a good place for lunch? We always scratch our head while deciding where to lunch at KLCC. Ever since Santini's quality dropped dramatically, I have to hop back common restaurants at top floor one by one, Madam Kwan, Little Penang, Genki Sushi... and today, Nippon Tei.

Nippon Tei has been around for quite some years, quite lucky I think, not like Chikuyotei (竹葉亭) Malaysia, which serves authentic Japanese food but ended up all outlets closed down slowly. Nippon Tei's tempura don is quite good, but today we ordered only teppanyaki.

My Teppanyaki Beef (RM 34). Looks very different compare to photo in menu, so I'm kinda disappointed. Beef is tenderly cooked but didn't absorb the taste at all.

And here is SG's Teppanyaki Squid (RM 23), again, we both agreed this is not good. So today is not a good day for us :(, any good teppanyaki that you can recommend?

The Vietnamese Restaurant, same row as Spring Valley not too bad. Highly recommend their Seafood Noodle Soup.

Yeah, I always scratch my head whenever I have to dine at KLCC as I'm sick of the choices there. Shanghai 10 due to open/ or opened a branch at Avenue K - slightly different version as they will serve dishes like salted egg yolk prawns besides their signature siu loong baos. Go check that out since near yr office.

Wasabi bistro, which is in Mandarin Oriental, serves good, authentic Japanese cuisine. A little pricey maybe but it's worth your penny. Give it a try ;)

I recommend rakuzen too but have not been there since they renovated their outlet at Chulan Square.

they said open b4 or after CNY, problem with renovation it seems. Cross yr fingers open soon and std ok so you get somewhere new to eat. LOL, bf ate at Nippon Tei tday and he said food so so only but since people spending, no choice.

Tummythoz, don't think Rakuzen has outlet in Starhill, only in Subang Jaya, Hartamas Shopping Centre and the Chulan Square one.

I've always wanted to try at Nippon Tei, but after hearing your review...I don't think I'll want to go there. The food pics looked really nice and yummy. Too bad it's not. :(

P/s: You've been tagged by me. :)
