[Yesterday nite] SG's brother is getting married very soon, so tonight we went to 1-Utama to get some dinner gown. After shop around until 8pm+, I decided to dinner at Dragon-i (same as the one in Cititel Midvalley). There is a long queue outside the restaurant, while I'm worrying... since the current running queue number is 05 (mine 10), the waitress suddenly skipped all the numbers... :D it's my turn in 3 minutes.
The environment is well designed, try to give you real China (or probably Shanghai) feels...
I've spent just few minutes to browse the food menu (most Shanghai ramen house offer the same items), and decided to order Xiao Long Bao (上海小笼包), Stew Beef Ramen (牛腩汤拉面), Tian Jin Meat Bun (天津狗不理) and Ba Bou La Jiong Ramen (八宝辣酱拉面).
I started my meal with Xiao Long Bao... the taste... mmm.... good, definitely can compete with Crystal Jade, and the portion, if I'm not mistaken, is a bit bigger than Crystal Jade. Continue with my beef ramen... oops, it's very nice also, but SG's Ba Bou ramen, I don't like it at all, just the smell of chili's seeds. Finally, the waiter send me the "Dog Ignore (狗不理)", and it looks exactly like a Sang Yuk Bao, and the taste... normal Bao + Xiao Long Bao's fillings.
At the back of this towel, it reads
"Xiao Long Bao or commonly referred as “Soup Dumplings” is one of the finest Chinese delicacy. The exact origins of Xiao Long Bao is unknown, but they first appeared in northwest of Shanghai, at least 100 years ago. This ubiquitous little bundle of joy is indigenous to almost every culture.
As you carefully pick one up with your chopsticks, you could literally see the weight of the soup stretching the translucent skin down. The best Xiao Long Bao has skin so thin yet it has enough elasticity to hold the delicate balance of dough, soup and meat in it."
